NEW CONCEPTS FOR THE AWARD OF AESABESP TROPHY AT FENASAN 2010

For 21 years jointly with the AESabesp Technical Meeting and Fenasan (National Exhibition for Sanitation and Environment), the AESabesp Award has been also being granted. The award is given to those who achieved great performance during the three days of the trade show. It is a tradition and one of the most expected moments of closing ceremony.

Every year, suggestions given by visitors and exhibitors are taken into account to add transparency and credibility to the awards process.

In 2009, there were some changes in the awards rules: instead of counting the votes deposited in the urns, a technical committee formed by specialized professionals, without any connection with the attendees, visitors or investors (exhibitors), did the evaluation by visiting the stands and analising the visitors’ receptiveness to award the following categories:

• Best Stand (awarded to three companies)
• Technological Innovation (awarded to three companies)
• Best Costumer Service 9 awarded to three companies)
• Best Performance AESabesp – Fenasan (awarded to one company)
• Best Performance AESabesp – Technical Meeting (awarded to a Business Unit of Sabesp that presents the greater number of technical reports).

However, in 2010, we adopted a more significant consideration related to the evaluation criteria: the category “Best Stand” will be mainly evaluated by the “Sustainability” criteria, in accordance with the Carbon Neutralization Project of AESabesp, in its position of OSCIP.

What does it mean? The Award Evaluation Committee will use the sustainability criteria to select the “Best Stand”. This innovation meets the social environmental believes of AESabesp focused on the better sensitization, awareness, perception, understanding and change in the culture of environmental preservation, through local actions in tune with global issues.

Considerations to choose the Best Stand:

Promotional architecture, design and visual communication that provides comfort to exhibitors and visitors.

In the sustainability criteria it will be taken into consideration the actions below:

• Use of renewable material in the design of the stands;
• Rational consumption of water;
• Waste management generated at stands, in the sites available for recycling;
• Encouragement to not supply disposable material, such as cups, flatware, plates and others recipients;
• Use of these actions within the platforms of Sabesp the 3Rs Program (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle), focused on the responsibility that everyone must have regarding responsible disposable of waste.

Considerations to choose the Technological Innovation

Use of technology in the showcase of equipment, products or services that better contribute to de development of the sanitation sector.

Considerations to choose the Best Costumer Service

Excellence in costumer service through the showcase of equipment, products or services, doubts clarification and supply of technical and information material.

Considerations to choose the AESabesp Best performance

Outstanding performance in all the other items mentioned before.

The Award

The winners will be known on 12th of August, during the closing ceremony. Together with the certification and AESabesp Trophy, there will be a wide publicity of the awarded companies in the internal publications of AESabesp (Saneas magazine, AESabesp paper and the official web site of the event), photos will also be placed in AESabesp newspaper, July/August 2010 edition.
