AESABESP – SABESP’s Engineers Association is an organisation founded on September 15th, 1986 that represents engineers, architects, geologists, geographers, technicians. Headquarters are located at Rua Treze de Maio, nº. 1.642, casa 1, Bela Vista, CEP 01327-002, São Paulo.

AESabesp’s  objectives are:

  • Strengthen the voluntary work to improve the quality of life for local citizen;
  • Promote initiatives and projects focused on  welfare and health, taking good quality water to the population;
  • Stimulate local partnership and dialog with the community, through solidarity actions among different social classes, inclusive providing lectures and training courses to other institutions, class associations, public departments, public organizations, public and private companies, herewith everyone can use water rationally and consciously, serving the general interest and the common good;
  • Represent the rights, interests, reinvidications and needs of the community before directive and managing departments within Sabesp;
  • Promote periodically discussions that result in suggestions of rules and  procedures for a efficient use of water by the community;
  • Promote free education through financial award and/or agreements, observing the complementary way of participation;
  • Culture promotion through national and international recognition of the organization, their members and technology;
  • Organise and promote professional development of the class association as well as cooperate to the national scientific and technological development, inclusive using tools such as digital media according to the legislation in vigor;
  • Represent and defend the interest of their member before Sabesp or other institutions and/or class associations, autarchies, public and private organizations, reserving the right to appeal to Court or forums in general;
  • Encourage the integration among the community, Sabesp’s associates, others class associations and also gather together employees inside or outside Sabesp;
  • Organise and promote periodically social, leisure and sports activities for Sabesp’s members and their families preferably, but, when possible, open to the community participation;
  • Non profit trial of samples and alternative production of systems, trade and application of new methods to solve the open sewage problem and supply treated water to the community;
  • Promotion of ethic, peace, citizenship, human rights, democracy and other universal values;
  • Promotion of an economy and social development to eradicate the poverty.
